"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

another spread

can you see the difference between the first and second journal page?

a lot of times after i have taken a photo of my work i can see areas that may need something.

i added more hearts in the lower left hand corner to balance it a bit more, and added some red in the crease of the heart.  as i look at it some more i see that maybe it needs a few blue circles on the left side of the heart, or not.

"If there's ever a tomorrow where we are not together, there is something
you must always remember. You are braver than you believe,
and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think,
but most important of all, even if we are apart,
I'll always be with you."

Joyful, happy colors! There is so much fun for the eye to enjoy! I have often myself, wondered when is it done? I have found that stepping away for a few minutes or hours...it become very apparent what the piece needs :)

That was fun, seeing if I could see the subtle changes before reading the rest of your post :-) I'm with you, need to take that second look, distanced by a photo to see what needs to happen next. Frankly sometimes it's more my talent having to improve enough, so I'll take things out I did a year ago and presto make some changes that help! Fantastic page by the way, this would be beautiful on canvas extra big :-)

Love that A. A. Milne quote!!! Love your journal page too Mary. I think I would recognize your art without seeing your name because of your unique style and awesome bright colors!! I do the same thing with viewing my art through the camera which gives me a different view perspective to see if I need to change anything or not. It really works!

Hugs to you!
Lee Ann
