"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

whose dream...

Is there a time to let go of a particular dream?

If it has not come to pass in the time frame we expected do we give up?

Do we allow space for God to change our dreams...exchange the good for the better?

I am thinking it is the latter, especially if it's a dream that won't go away, and one where I am not dreaming just for myself.  One that seems to have been placed there by God Himself.

But...but, I am allowing that maybe the dream looks a little or a lot different that I expect.

Sometimes we dream too small!  Especially if we are new to this dreaming thing.

God says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."  (Jeremiah 29:11)

Our dreams may be good, but His dreams/plans are always better.

Sometimes I think we only have a glimpse of how big the dreams really are that God has planned for us.....When you least expect it, it will come....

I left you a long comment, but it disappeared. Suffice to say, YES, you're right & that I'm in the very same "season" right now, with pain and dreams and wondering about purpose. But, in the midst ofbthat, he has left me with miracles & blessings so specific, that I must know they are from Him. "He who began a good work in you..."

I think sometimes God asks us to give our dreams back to Him, even the ones we KNOW He planted in our hearts, so that our hearts are purified further and so that He can give the dream resurrection power...I think of Abraham, waiting so long for the promise, his son Isaac, to come...and then God asked him to lay his son, the promise and the promise of future generations, on the altar...and the good dream becomes better...

Richest blessings on your evening!
