"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

looking back

Life must be lived forward but it can be understood only backwards.  ~ Soren Kierkegaard

I am taking a stroll through my first visual journal.

I began in 2007.  I can hardly believe it has been six years.

My first journal had a lot more words in it, for it was a time of intense searching for me. A time of really entering my heart, being honest with myself (as much as I knew how to be) when one lives their life behind a mask, one does not always see the truth of oneself.

It's good to go back...again and again.

I have noticed a change in my journals over the years.  They became more about how they looked, more about the images on them instead of the content in them.

But of late, I am noticing more words pouring out on lovely color, less use of stencils and stamps, just my hand and heart.

I like that...

I have come far...but still have far to travel...

I think I will post several old pages during the next few days.
