I pulled out Sarah Ahearn Bellemere's book Painted Pages and played. I have found that while I love her work, I personally like a bolder, more graphic painting style! But I find every time I try something new I learn, and I am changed.

I have been on a painting roll this week. Have had some successes and some failures.

I love the colors Mary.
very different from your usual colours but it still is in your style, pretty.
I like these springlike colors.
I too love trying out techniques that other artists use and see what they can bring to my own style. Inspiration is everywhere.
And yes, we need to let ourselves make art we don't love and just remember that we took that time to be creative !

Being open to new adventures always lead to successes and failures but learning something new is the important thing which obviously you did....You always amaze me with your spirit of adventure in your art...
