"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

promotional/portfolio material

My friend Kristin Jackson, who happens to be a wonderful Graphic Design Artist designed these great promotional and portfolio materials for me.

I am going to try to branch out this year a bit.  Taking my cards to a few local stores.  This material will be so helpful and beautiful as I put together a small promotional packet.

I am both excited and apprehensive at the prospect of doing this...but I am going to do it!!!

I am still teach a visual journaling class at my church once a month, and offer small group classes in my studio.  My dream is still alive - to have a larger studio to offer a place for women to come and explore their hearts through this amazing medium of paint and words.

But I am actively "waiting" for that dream to be realized.

These are quite wonderful promotional pieces, Mary. Everyone loves color and is drawn to colorful works, as you've learned. My friend Marge makes a new card every year which she hands out to people she encounters through her ministry. These are viewed as special gifts from her to the person receiving them.
I remember the business card ritual when traveling in Asia years ago. The card was presented with both hands, with eye contact, and received with both cards. The recepient carefully read the card and then turned it over to see what might be printed on the back.
You've started with special cards and it'll be interesting to see what happens with them, many probably collected and put in pride of place on the refrigerator.

Hi Mary, I have been browsing your blog for a while now. Like you, I am an artist but a full time busy MOm with 4 kids that I homeschool. :) My play time is very short and sporadic. One day....

Anyway, I have had the desire to begin a monthly class like the one you mentioned at my church or at our local library. Can you give me any tips on how to go about it? What kind of materials do you provide or do the students bring everything they need? Do you charge? I would love some guidelines. It would be wonderful outlet for me and I know for the students too.

IF you prefer you can email me at the email address provided here. thank you so much and God bless,

tereza
