there are times i do not see clearly.
sometimes pain obscures the truth of something.
it's easier to place blame.
seeing clearly sometimes shows my sin,
but isn't that what we truly want, in the deepest part of us?
to see clearly?
in spite of the pain, because of the pain...
i am learning i can bear quite a bit of pain before it really gets my attention,
i can become detached, and not acknowledge it.
God brings this scripture back to me often.
"My people are broken - shattered!
and they put on band-aids,
Saying, 'It's not so bad, You'll be just fine.'
But things are not 'just fine'!"
i don't want to just put a band-aid on the pain,
i want healing.
sometimes there will be more pain before the healing comes,
but if i want to experience life fully,
fully awake
eyes wide open
heart wide open
and i do,
i have to risk.
risk not looking like i have it all together
seeing where i have sinned
where i have hurt
where i have been selfish
where i have caused pain.
there is a God who desires healing, wholeness and offers
to rebuild.
but sometimes things have to be broken down and shattered
before He rebuilds.
He doesn't want to patch something that's broken,
He wants to re-build it.

I love this post...The super moon pic #1 could be a painting...Love it...Your words so true.
Beautiful words to ponder, beautiful photos that make me happy. I love the full moons, but this one brought me smiles and dancing. Aah
You used your wonderful pictures to make a great point....As I read your post I could help but think of the retreat last weekend where we talked so much about the process God uses to break and remake us....The Potter and His Wheel......His loving hands shape us and then we have to be placed in the fire in order to be useable because clay that has not been fired is soft and can't be handled....Then He joyously uses us for His purposes.....As you know my sweet friend, the pain is not for nothing and it won't last forever.....You are just being shaped in His image....like we all are.....and the firing is no fun.....
Love you,
Nanie
Beautiful words writtn, and I love your pictures! God’s word say not to cover up our sins (patch and rebuild them), and not to to hide and pretend that they don't exist (putting on that band-aid!). We need to show our imperfections (take the risk!) so that He can work on them. :)
Blessings and hugs Mary :)

Mar I love those awesome photos of the moon, and your words were perfectly written..it's so true we must realize that God is constantly molding us to be like HIM.. believing the pain brings us closer to Him as well...(((hugs))) dear sister
So so true! This band-aid thing is so easy to reach for, instead of the real healer. Sometimes it's just hard to figure out how to wait for God to complete the healing, when he doesn't fix it right away. He always does the perfect healing in his time..and I just have to remember that .
Love your moon photos.
Hugs,
Lee Ann
powerful and true. I can relate.
Beautiful Mary!!!
Beautiful post Mary!! With so much truth!
Hi, Friend...As one who's been going through some definite testing these past months, I reach out on my knees.
Be of good cheer: He also knows that in contriteness and confession, there is wisdom & courage to be gained for future battles! And when He re-builds, Girlfriend, it's GLORIOUS! He'll polish you up shinier than a new diamond! So, get ready.
Love, Deej
