"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

Yes, I did some Zentangles

I have shied away for doing Zentangles but a friend of mine showed me hers and I just had to give it a try.
While Meg was home for Christmas break we watched three seasons of "Alias".  I had seen most of them, she had not. So, during many episodes I doodled.  It was a lot of fun, and very addicting.  It's one of those things where you say, "just one more".  Like chocolate!!

These are lovely!

I recently took a zentangle class with some friends. I wanted to learn for the specific reason that I wanted something creative to do while watching TV with my husband. I've only made one, but I do like the process.

Oh that looks like fun and relaxing! I'll have to try that when my husband is watching football or some other sport show. I really love the red one. Beautiful Zentagles!

You certainly did do some zentangles! They're wonderful....and you're so right about them being addictive. They seem to be the perfect thing to do while watching (or non-watching!) TV.

Oh girl do you have a knack for doing these things! I just love the designs you incorporated into them, goodness they would be great collage pieces printed out!

They are beautiful too Mary. I have not tried it yet but it does look like so much fun and something you can get lost in.

Oh WOW, Mar, yes you did do some zentangles!!! They are fabulous. They are like snow flakes--no two are ever the same.

What a great job, Mary. You're a natural. I can see you using these on your journal pages, as a transfer or as collage material. I tried once but it didn't appeal. You've encouraged me to try again.

I bought a book, the pens, the paper, I tried doing them, but mine sure don't look nearly as nice as yours! Love the red one especially! I guess it just comes easier to some people.

Clever and beautiful, Mary!
Something soothing about letting
my eyes follow along as they
twist and turn.
The thought of making them
gives me that baking brownies
feeling:)

I love these! They look so fun.
Thank you so much for your encouragement & wisdom. "endure the pain on the way to freedom" i love this. the pain is not an option. we have to go through it to be free. it reminds me of the dragon shedding his scales in the narnia books. and we're not alone :) jesus went through it too (on a much greater scale of course). he went through the pain to set us free. i just thought of that right now.

I too have shied away from making these, but yours really appeal to me. I think it's the "roundness" - round leaves, round flowers, round hearts, etc. - that adds a softness. I may have to give them a try now! Great job.
