"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

another one

I am not sure if I am totally pleased with this one, but that's okay.  I am learning.

I know I don't like the outline around her face.  And I think it maybe needs something more on the right upper side to balance it.  But you know, it's one journal page.  So I am moving on.  Maybe I'll come back to it later, but for now I am not going to over think it.  I know there will be some pages I really like and some I don't

I keep telling myself to enjoy the process, enjoy the learning.

Wishing you all a great Saturday!!

that's the beauty of journal pages - you can play all you want

That really is the lesson when we create, to enter into the process and enjoy it while it's happening. What you learn from one page carries into the next. Fun to see all your new pages.

I think it's its own perfection! I love the way the girl is looking down (patiently) but is also looking at the rose. And your writing fits it so well! The little extras placed around it are what I am trying to fiddle with, myself. I think it's fun to add details for balance, but also just to put almost a title to my thoughts... Anyways, I think I just over-thought everything again...Oops! :D

Mary this is nice. I tend to go with you on the outline not to have it. Thanks for sharing your latest. Blessings!

This is all so good for me to see Mary. Watching you make these journal pages and hearing you say to yourself over and over to enjoy the process and not over think it, is exactly what I need to hear. I can make trying collage or another media I've not worked with very much into a "not so joyful" process when perfection is my aim. "Enjoy the process and keep movin on!" I like that!

Since I am new to this collage journal thing, I have another question. What kind of paper do you start with to make your journal. Is it like a regular spiral notebook with regular writing paper? You can email me at

I thought I was in the wrong house at first. But, then I saw all of the colors and I knew it was your house. Great looking pages, Mary. Enjoying looking and reading. Brenda R.

I think this one is wonderful and I think it is finished. To my eye the ENJOY and the TRAINING words balance it out. Mine aren't turning out quite as cool as your are. I am searching for better focal points.

This is different! Maybe you're just not comfortable with it, but that's ok! Anything you make is beautiful! Because YOU'RE beautiful, Mary! Inside and out! I mean it! Patsy from

oh wow! to be totally honest! i love this one better! it's so graphically interesting...there's a wonderful cropping and sense of movement..and that black line that you DON'T like is what gives it that flow!

i like, i like, i like!

well done!

Mary I think they are wonderful but if the line is bothering you have you ever tried dabbing with almost a dry brush effect some gesso all over the lines. Really softens the line. Hugs friend, Mollye
