"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

Something New

It is interesting how the majority of the paintings I like start out something entirely different. I think in part, it is all the layers that I end of with. Also, I like to just begin the painting and letting it just evolve on it's own.

I so identify with you Mary, it's not the direction you were heading in but the destination makes you happy. Beautifully vibrant and the phrase is brilliant, 'the earth laughs' indeed :-)

Love this....I think God is a God of Joy..
Even through this valley I have been walking through He has been touching me with His Joy when I am in worship. It is great. It feels like God is tickling me. :)

Thanks for you encouragement today. I know I am not done, but it is nice to feel some joy today.
Blessings,
Tammy

Oh I love both of those paintings Mary! You should make a third one, so they would look like a perfect grouping on a wall. You are just full of great ideas!!!!

The background texture is really nice. Good contrast in the values, too.
The warm message, of course, is welcome ...especially since I can't wait to see some flowers heralding spring!
More, please...
:-)

thats my favorite way to create .. i just let the piece lead me .. when I sit down to make something I never know what it will be. No direction really. I really really love the simplicity of the words with the flower and the texture is great! Love the quote too. One of my faves of yours ..

Hi Mary, it's been a delight to meet you too :)
I really like your art, with the vibrant colors and contrasts. And visual journaling as a way of coming to know Jesus better is simply awesome. I've always believed that art has so much potential.
God bless
