"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

Hello

Well, I sure have been absent. And to be honest I'm not sure if I should continue this blog. I've been here before, I've asked this same question. I'm not sure who it benefits. I don't even look at all the blogs I follow. I spend so much time on Instagram these days...it a feast for the eyes for sure, but I'm not quite sure it is for the soul. It's more about images, yes, many have more content but... I don't even know what I mean. I think I am going to try to update this ole space and maybe say a few more words...maybe...

I'll start here, with my new studio arrangement. Sorry for the pink cast, these are white walls. I was working on folding tables.  I am a visual person, surprise surprise. My studio is in the middle of my house and you walk by it to get to the kitchen, so it gets walked by a lot! I hated how it looked so I always kept the door shut. Which meant I've not been using it a whole heck of a lot. Wednesday evening at 10 pm I decided to scour my house for items I could use to make it more fitting with the rest of the house and more appealing to me. I'm really happy with the outcome. I'm not finished, but it's good enough. Eventually I want to replace all the plastic bins and containers with baskets or old wood draws or something natural. Nothing wrong with plastic, I'm just not a plastic kind of gal.  I like natural, old worn wood etc. I like to have visually beautiful (in my eyes) things surrounding me.

Mar, I have asked the same question over and over...why am I blogging...So many of the ones I have enjoyed over the years have gone by the wayside and I find myself absent more than present.
Somehow I just can't quite bring myself to give it up completely. I like having a record of what's going on visually beside just my journal but I get busy and the next thing I know it's been months since I've posted.

Now on to your post today...I love what you'e done with your studio...I like you like my spaces to be "pretty" and "inviting" at the same time. I love the natural elements holding all the precious tools needed to carry out our crafts as you mentioned you do as well.

I hope you keep blogging. I always enjoy meeting you hear rather it's on your porch, your studio or in your living room....Love you sweet girl...

I write for myself, it's actually part of my creative process! So I don't think I'll ever stop even though I don't blog like I used to, nor is there anywhere near the interaction there once was. I have picked up again on reading blogs too- it is more fulfilling than other platforms because it takes more effort on the other end. But I am more picky about who is on my feed.

I'm glad you posted! :)

Your space looks lovely and very inviting.

The "Vessel" piece still brings tears to my eyes.

Like Bridgette above said, I too blog for myself. It helps me process things and challenges me spiritually, emotionally and creatively - in a sense it's part of my spiritual practices as much as art is! I enjoy being able to get more insight on a blog than one can on Instagram. Instagram fills my visual needs but blogs allow me to know more about people. :)

Your studio is fantastic! I have enjoyed the collage you have been posting on IG. I am one who hopes you continue to blog even if only once in a while. :)

I wondered the same thing recently.
Wondered it hard.
Decided to come back because of the joy I get
in sometimes posting. No pressure attached.
So what if just a few come around because of the infrequent posting.
The ones who are sent will see and life will transpire:)
I get a whoosh of life every time I come by:)

I also understand you asking yourself the question - and if its no longer working for you then its OK to draw a line under it, it really is, you can do that! It feels the same for me - I often wonder if I'm talking to myself, and I get a lot of visitors and very few comments. However, I will be working in my journal anyway so I always conclude that I might as well put it out there, even if Pinterest does seem to be a more fruitful place to publish. Absolutely LOVE seeing your workspace - it always fascinates me to visit creative spaces and I buy that magazine "Where Women Create" from time to time. Make it a space you love and can't wait to be in!!
