"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

an injection of creativity juice

do you ever feel something pushing inside to grow...when you know you are in need of a little branching out, a little expansion?

okay, the first journal page does not look so much like my pages (except the bright colors)  in fact they look a little bit like Samantha Kira Harding's pages.  that's because i purchased her "Going Further E-Book".  sometimes i just need to see something done a little different than the way i do things.  she does this color blocking thing that i love and could never really "see" how to create it.  i don't want to re-create her pages. i want them to be mine, and i know they will meld into "my style".

the second spread feels more like mine to me, and i really like the distinct separation of bold color.

i like Samantha's e-book.  there are several things that are repeats for me, but there are also many little nuggets of newness that make me glad i purchased it.

it's big.

143 pages.

i feel like i got a little injection of creativity juice.  learning a new way to play in my journals.  can't wait to see how it melds and morfs.

are you doing something fun today?

It seems we have both listened to that still small voice that says be brave both spiritually and creatively...sometimes I wonder if they are one and the same...one blurs and spurs on the other. Have a blessedly creative weekend. Patty

These are fun, love to see you exploring new things, the outcomes are always bright and uplifting. Painting today, visiting with my sister later, great way to spend a weekend!

Hi Mary!
I love your work so much. ;)

I have felt that push from within for so many years while raising children. I flustered and faltered trying to find or allow what that prompt was to happen. Getting frustrated along the way, I'd lose my focus and grab something just to keep myself busy finding myself unfulfilled again.
I believe that when I finally had some confidence as an artist and some faith, I began to see some consistency in the medium I've chosen, or God's chosen for me. It's always been with words, calligraphy, etc...Since I've been focused on the progression of my art I'm much more satisfied and the struggle inside has subsided.
You are an inspiration Mary!

It is fun to try other styles and then incorporate bits into your style. Really liking the color combination you used here.
