"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

here's the finished spread

i am learning quite a bit as i do these

what i like and what i don't

leaving a bit of space between writing and elements, not overcrowding things

i smeared the ink on the top left corner (bummer) and just left it, life is messy

there are things i would do different on this page if i had it to do over, but that's okay

not sure i am totally pleased with the colors, but it's one journal spread, there will be more

hope you all have a good weekend

do something fun

Life is messy, but this looks well used and not messy to me. I am enjoying the photos and the graphic nature of your lettering. xox Corrine

Yes, sister, we do have choices and thank God for that...This seems to be a very interesting class....

I love the spread and I love the colors...It's showing teal on my computer and that's one of my favorite colors..

We are going to a family wedding so that should be fun...Do you have fun plans?

It's a striking spread, love the repetitive use of your Mom's photo, and I love the messy ink splash

Such a warm journal spread... I love it all, even the ink smear because, as you said, life can be messy! Your photos of your Mom are so beautiful, and I really like how you repeated them. Enjoy your weekend, my friend!

Those pictures of your mom just stop me every time ! She is so beautiful !
I like the messy. I even dreamed that I was painting with ink and smeared it last night...funny. But messy is a lot easier for me to understand than perfectly tidy, that's for sure.
The color is maybe not quite your usual vibrancy but as you say, it is an okay thing to try and move on...
Have a wonderful weekend, Beautiful Mary ! Play, play, play !

I'm crazy about the colors here: aqua, peach, black with some yellow and rosy spots!

I love that photo of mom too, but I can't remember her being the "Leave it to Beaver" mom because she really didn't have time for us, she was so busy with all the things she thought were important...yes we do have choices! love you sis!

Mary, I didn't really notice the smudge, but I think it adds 'character' and you are SO right: Life is messy!
