"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

something trying to break through

I was reminded today why visual journaling is so powerful and surprising.

After weeks of neglect I picked up my jouranl and began adding color with no outcome in mind.  I added the large heart and then the smaller ones around it.  Really hated the colors I had picked as well as the images (more hearts Mary?) so my intention was to cover it up and begin again.  I took my pallet knife and began making slash marks across the whole thing...and as I was doing it I felt and thought...this is right.

I have been feeling crappy lately.  Physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

It happens.

I have my eyes and heart open in expectation.

There is something about the act of creating that pulls things from us, heart issues. Guess that's why hearts are a reoccurring theme for you Mar, not to be resisted but explored. Feeling for you and with you :-)

What an adventure! Just know, that crappy feeling will turn. Give yourself grace.

Oh Mar I do understand those feelings! The heart slashing goes on with me too at times just before the big blessing comes. Your heart is so real and beautiful and it touches mine every time.

Love you friend!

Mary,
It just isn't our timing that makes it shine through..It is his timing..You paint hearts because yours is so full of love what else should you be painting my friend.
Hugs,

Hi Mary,
Yes, I think you are right. Contrast is the key for this type of painting and there is not enough. I was wondering what was wrong with it and that's it. I think I will fix it and see if I can live with it. I think the WIP is doing better.
Thanks, Mar!

Oh it's so so true
....we feel the most undone
when we're unraveling open
to something new and needed
...something breaking through
the tender places inside.
It hurts so good.
Love and prayer
rising for you.....you're in such good
hands and LOVE surrounds and keeps you
even as you GO THROUGH to the other side.
Peace be the journey, friend.
Love,
Jen

So glad for His grace!

Oh I hate those transition times but they always lead to something new. So keep your eyes and heart open to what is in store for you next. Hold on to hope... and keep on painting. Maybe I should listen to my own advice...hmmm.
