"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

another heart

 this little heart is 8x8
trying to mix things up a bit...i did not splatter paint and
i continued the front paint onto the sides instead of my usual black sides.
i think the heart needs a little bit of the darker blue added for more contrast, but
overall i am liking this.

meg and i cleaned the studio yesterday.  makes it so much nicer to work in.

we are painting cornhole boards.  yes, i said cornhole...does anyone play?? i think it's a southern thing...and i think it needs a different name...it brings back memories of beavis and butthead... yes, i know who they are...have boys!!

now these are not your usual painted boards...will post them when we are finished.

oh, went back and splattered dark blue on the heart.  it looks much better.

Cornhole boards? Cannot wait to hear more about what these are. Another pretty heart. I love how you make the heart's depth appear with your shading. Your heart art always looks like you could pick the heart right up off the canvas and hug it! But then, that is what you do so well Mar! You give love hugs with your unique and beautiful art.

Like your new blog look. I feel like I need to do something different with mine but haven't figured out what yet. Sometimes I'm too picky I think.

Heart love and hugs,
Lee Ann

LOVE the new look of your blog, Mary!
Bold and bright and beautiful like your work.
Swooning over your 8 x 8.
I love that size!
Something about it makes me intensely happy,
like pasta al dente feels to my teeth!
Go figure.
I just love you and what you're creating:)

I'm thinking the added dark blue will give it that 3D effect you've been developing so well. Enjoy seeing the new effects, it just bounces. Can't wait to see your boards post.

never heard of cornhole boards...but your heart with the lines in it remind me of broken places that happen in our hearts....those times when it feels they are not strong enough...and yet.....they leave their scars and tighten up....making us even stronger than we ever thought...

Wow, this looks fabulous. I just love the colour combo of orange and blue (I've been using it today on my calendar page!) Looking forward to seeing it with the splatter :-)
