Signs that's something's up
A few posts back I mentioned NBC was going to use my home for a few scenes in an upcoming movie. The movie crew began arriving around 7:00 am yesterday. It was a long fascinating day. I was going to leave for the day but it was too much fun to watch it all. They were here for 17 hours and shot 5 or 6 scenes which will end up being only about 5 minutes in the movie - if that. It is amazing the amount of people and work it takes to pull one of these off. I really do have a new appreciation for those in this business.
The Movie is called "The Magic Eye" and airs June 11th on NBC. I think I got the date right, will remind you all closer to the date.
You may recognize a few of the actors. Faith Ford, Tony Oller, Alyssa Shafer, Philip Casnof, Joe Adler, Tommy Creswell and Kathy Payne. There are more, but these are the ones who where here.
Seeing them film this piece of mine was pretty cool. It says "Open Wide Your Heart." They felt that this was the theme of the movie. I am not sure what they will do with it...

Hot dog! now that's exciting, you are definitely going to have to keep us posted on all this. And it would be just too cool if your artwork show up in that movie! Talk about things just coming to you, I'm still agog that your home and property is being used in a movie, how cool is that!
Very exciting! Can't wait to view it.
I second Bren's Hot Dog! How fun to be able to stay to watch and to have part of your home and your artwork be part of the movie. I'll watch it, for sure, even though not one of the actors is familiar to me.
...wow,, that's really cool... i liked seeing movie shoots in live... i remember one instance when i appeared in a movie here in the Philippines that was taken 6 years ago... i was one of the villagers who runs crazy before a house in fire... awww.., it was so fun and i got some favorable compensation too..haha..^^
Take care!!!^^

This is so exciting!!! How awesome. Our family did a commercial for Chevrolet at our house one time and we got to see how a commercial was made, very small compared to you, but our memory of TV. I can't wait to see the movie, how much fun! To have your work in it awesome...how much like God!
So cool!!! I'm such a movie buff, I would have been fascinated to watch the action. Love that they filmed your painting. Can't wait to tune in!
wow, that's fascinating
how did you get to have your home as a film site?
i've often thought our place would work well, lots of space and light, high ceilings etc in a unique environment - any tips gratefully accepted
Very Cool, Mary. I agree, what a wonderful way for your sweet witness to shine! Can't wait to see the show! Aloha and God Bless, Connie
This is SO cool!!!
And of course your paintings grabbed their
hearts and cameras....they sing out loud
in their beauty and aliveness!
And change the atmosphere.
And give off light.

(what a clever shepherd you have;))
totally cool...wow....love that little producer....
Well honey I can say Yep I knew her when...............the movie industry is a fascinating one isn't it. They are calling Shreveport the little Hollywood as we now have 3 or 4 studios here and that all happened after Katrina and we were so close and feasible for them. I played a bit part in one movie and it is pretty good little way of making ends meet for retirees as they get an hourly wage and at the end of the year they get a 1099. But I just hated the standing around. But lots of seniors do not have hobbies or other things to do with their time. Oh Mary I can't wait to see your house in the show. Thanks for sharing with us. Love you, Mollye
wow, what an exicting experience:)
Came over from your sister's blog. I enjoyed the photos! Glad for your experience with having your home used for the filming of a movie.
God bless you!

Wow Mary! So very exciting!
That is so AWESOME Mary! Wow! I wrote the date down so I won't miss the movie come June 11th. I'm sticking it right beside the t.v. Oh I think that is a God thing that they picked out your special piece of art, saying it summed up the theme of the movie. Oh my goodness! And I love the photo of the little producer in the chair.
Big hugs ♥
