"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."
It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

Lenten painting
I painted the first layer of this at our Ash Wednesday Service. I added to, and changed it a bit today. It will be displayed each Sunday through Lent. I will take it home during the week and possibly add to it...or not.
Mar, this is beautiful......I just think it's wonderful that you did this at Church.....
It is definitely has a very strong presence and I can see all kinds of spiritual interpretations....I bet you can too......I love to hear some of yours since you did the painting......
Amazing, Mary. It's so good to allow people who aren't artists see how the process goes and to get a hint of why a painting can be an act of worship. We all come to God in different ways; this is our way.
Mary, I have visited you blog on ocassion and thuroughly enjoy your work. This piece you did for Ash Wednesday is powerful and dramatic. It is a beautiful and fitting way to begin the season of Lent and an even more beautiful offering to God in worship. Thank you!
Oh gee I missed this post...grrrr I saw that you'd changed your banner...but didn't realize this was the painting you did in Church...it's awesome hon...just gorgeous!!!
This is BEAUTIFUL! Did you do this painting during your church service? These deep blues and fuchsia colors along with the cross are wonderful. (2 of my fav colors)
I would love to hear more about these paintings you are doing in church. Would love to know how to start art worship in my church too. God is using you so many ways Mary.
