I am enjoying this process. You get the look of multiple layers without using layers and layers of paint. I signed up for several of
Traci Bautista's online classes. I think creating those Zentangles opened up a doodling vein in me, and yes
Bren, I do think they will show up in future journal pages.

This is fantastic! Vibrant, lively and with the wonderful graffiti style. I'll be watching for how you incorporate your zens into future pages. Traci will be a great match for your style Mar. She just burst with inspiration. Little envy of those classes you get to take :-)
I'm thinking of a good friend of mine who I was having a discussion with on the phone about a week ago on the topic of perfect joy. One thing I would add to this image to achieve that result: the Cross of Christ.
More gorgeous pages! If you aren't using layers of paint how are you getting that look???
Hi Janet, I guess I should clarify that a bit. Yes, there are several layers, which include stamping, stenciling and doodles, but the initial paint background has less. I usually paint, then gesso, then paint, and gesso again, and repeat. Using Traci's technique of spreading several colors across the page at a time required fewer layers and less paint.
i love this color explosion combined with zentangle doodly goodness!! fabulous pages mary!! xox
Mar, these pages make me smile because they are happy and full of joy......love these colors......so excited that you are taking these classes...I can't wait to see what else you do with your paints...

I love the combination of colors and layers on this one. I can't wait to see more of what you do in Traci's classes. How exciting.
Oh how I love your colors and layers and all these new journal pages just show how much fun you are having. And the zentangles are fab too.

Oh My!!!! This is so wonderful Mary. I just want to rub my hands on it!!! Your work is so awesome, and I'm heading to Traci's blog now!!
Wow! A whole new look, but isn't that what it is all about always alive, always changing....thank you so much!
Wowsie! This is so beautiful! I love the colors and the doodles!! Isn't it special how our doodles are just plain US? No one else can copy a doodle very well. I think our doodles just come out of our taking the peaceful time to just wiggle our fingers around in whatever which way our imagination flows. I LOVE your wiggles that your fingers made Mary!

Love, Love, love, Which of Traci's c lasses are you taking? I am trying to decide where to start. Is this your first class? Thanks, Patti
Hi Patti, I don't see an email on your profile so I will answer here and hope you come back. :)
I am taking a few of hers. The Doodle class, and Graffiti Bouquet. I purchased her book about 3 three years ago and kind of put it aside. Pulled it out again last week and created these journal spreads. I had so much fun doing them that I signed up for her classes to learn more. She gives loads of info, examples and has great downloads. Well worth the cost.
Yes, thanks for the info. I love your blog and enjoyed looking at you flicker page. Loving the porches......front and back. Wish I lived closed and we could have some iced tea on the front porch swing. You have created beautiful art and a beautiful place to live.
Woweeee, this is stunning. I always love your use of colour :-)
*LOVE*
