"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

snow??

okay, I know this doesn't look like much - there was more but we were staying warm and toasty in front of the huge fireplace

a few moments outside on the swing

my most precious husband

Yes,  we had snow!!  For the past 9 years or so we have stayed at the Snowbird Mountain Lodge in
Robbinsville, NC. We usually go in the fall around the same time each year either late October or the first weekend in November. This was the first time we ever had snow. It was too cold to do much walking, or rocking on the porch, so the main room in the lodge was quite busy. We came home a day early and hung out around home. We did hit the gym this morning to try to work off some of the eating we did.  The lodge provides all your meals, and they do it in the most marvelous way, including desserts that we did not pass up!!

We had dinner with  Marsha and Mike Harwood, they are friends that we met when they lived in GA.  I know some of you know Marsha from Marsha's Musings, and they have a wonderful ministry in the Snowbird area. It was good to see them and catch up.

I am heading to the mountains again this coming weekend with my share group, my third trip to those beautiful Smokey Mountains.  So if I am a little scarce, and not leaving many comments please know it is because life has been quite busy around here.

May you all take some time to go outside and soak up this beautiful season.

Grace and Peace

What a beautiful picture of that Mary smile ! Sorry that the snow made your time away short, but from the look in your eyes, it was a lovely time anyway !
Cheers !

Darn Mary but you are photogenic! Great pictures of you and your hubby. We had our first snow fall last week, it covered the ground and made everything look so brilliant. Have a great time enjoying those mountains and good friends.

I love the pic of you! Your smile just lights up your face. No snow here for me. It's only just beginning to be autumn!

Wow snow...we usually never see it and we still don't even need a heater.
Great pictures and sounds like a great time!

Hi Mary : )

Got your sweet note......Doing allright, at a bit of a crossroads still fumbling around with the map....questions, but hoping for the grace of His shepherding in spite of my questions and "which way is up" equillibrium......

I have another art journal post I'd love to show you, just have to figure out how to do that...it's me lying at the bottom of the page, with a rose growing out of a seed in my heart up to the sun and it says, "My heart will bloom again"....got a taste of that "blooming" when I went up to the mountains by myself a couple of weekends ago.....and now can think of nothing else.......thus the post, "Lift"......

Oh Mary, please pray for "blooming", in spite of myself.......

My beautiful, spiritfilled sister, Mar...your smiles not only brightens up your face, brings such joy to others! Snow, gee that's something, we haven't had our first yet, and to be honest I can wait for it...not just yet tho!! I'm so happy you and Greg had such a great time together..something many of us need to think about doing with our honeys...we all get so caught up in everyday stuff, we don't think about how important it is to spend quality time with our men. Even our Sat. drives keep us close!!! Talk to you soon sweetie! Love ya!

Hi Mar! I love your new profile picture---darling! I just love your hair. I actually changed the color of my hair yesterday to a chestnut rich dark red-brown. It was a whim and I think I like it. It's different! I am off to look at Marsha's blog. Sounds like y'all had fun in the cold!
