"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

Mar how awesome your back porch looks, and that black wicker lounge is beckoning me to come lounge..ehehehe!!! Can't wait to sit there and take in all the colors and the smells of early fall...sigh!!!! There are so many things I'm still looking for in yard sales...I'm wanting to pass the two wingback chairs to Lee and find some arm chairs to replace them...I think they would be fun to refinish and perhaps cover...course they have to be a really good deal for me to be able to buy them! hehehehe
love ya,

Once again the charm and unique flavour you bring to your home amazes me. What a gift to be able to take all these elements and create an environment to savour. Fall is my time of year as well, wish I could crawl onto that lounger and just let time pass me by..

There's that wonderful screened in porch again. It's so alluring. Makes me want to sit a spell and talk about Jesus.
I love the old thermos bottles and the candle in a jar and the red and white striped rugs and so many more of the details you've used to create this most special of places.

Oh Mary.
What a ready canvas
for the light of Autumn
to splash and grace
....makes me smile
to think of you there
in that lovely spot
soaking in September
and knowing it will only
get lovelier after this.
(Acorns pelting me daily,
now! Bumper crop.....
PELTING, I tell you!)

Oh how I love your warm and cozy style Mar! I would love to sit on your porch with you and sip some hot chocolate and even try a game of backgammon. I love the fall season also and the cool nights and chilly mornings. I would especially like having your porch to step out onto with all of those welcoming and home sweet home colors. You are one classy and sweet friend!

Hope you have rested up since your art journaling workshop on Saturday. I can't wait to hear more about it.

Love ya bunches,
Lee Ann

Your porch looks amazing! I've been decorating for fall, too. But it's mind over matter because it's still mid-90s here. But does that stop me from wearing fall clothes?? NO IT DOES NOT!

Is this your porch??? Oh, I just love it...I want it!!! I was just asking the Lord to give me visions on what our place might look like one day, God willing we get to have one, and I could enjoy this type of place...wonderful.
I hope you are adjusting to your daughter being off at college and the empty nest...changes are such mixed blessings!!

Oh, Mar, how wonderful to see your house with it's dressings for fall.I can just imagine myself sitting there with you and maybe even Bevie and just talking talking talking about art and of course our favorite Subject, Jesus! It's so cozy and inviting and you will be able to see the leaves change (something we really don't get down here :(. I have also been thinking about that visual journaling that you do with some women of the church and my wheels are turning. I don't know if anything will come of it but thank you for your input and your inspiration! oxox
