"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

Porch pictures

The pollen is finished for the most part.

The porch has been hosed and swept.

Pillows washed.

It's ready for summer living.

I slept on the daybed last night.

Lovely!

The comfy quilt chair is my favorite ... so beautifully homey and inviting. The whole porch has a friendly artistic look, the triangle banners are way cool, something new and happy to discover wherever you turn ... Love your bird painting too!

Oh Mary, can I come sleep on your porch? I love it...so welcoming and just invites one to come and sit or take a nap.....I grew up with screen porches and I love them....I have one but it's not big enough to put something to sleep on.....maybe I will try to figure something out.....
Hugs and Blessings

Okay will you come to my house with your decorative flare and create something as warm and inviting as your porch & home? I have no talent in that department at all. Bare bones plain I am when it comes to decorating :-) I could get lost forever in your porch.

This makes me want to own a house with a porch that is enclosed! I have always wanted one, and to live not too far from the coast or river.
I will keep dreaming and when if I ever do move where I have one this is my decorating inspiration! Thanks for sharing Mary!!
All my best, Theresa
Ps. Loved the journal pages with the girls!

I want to sit on your porch, Mary, and have a cup of coffee with real cream with you. That would be so fun.

I agree with Martha. The porch is absolutely wonderful, but it wouldn't be the same without you. (And I promise not to rant about anything. :-) I'll be too busy smiling and snoozing.)

Your porch is so cozy and inviting! Love it. It makes me want to come over for a glass of ice tea.

Hi Mary,
I use Arches Text Wove paper which actually Amazon has now. Amazon has everything. I also used some Reeves BFK and some regular ARches paper. You can use anything really but text wove miraculously lays very flat after it's dry. It's called paster paper because you have put the colored paste on it.

Mary, Mary, Mary. Once again, LOVE your style. the way you put things that may not naturally go together in a surprising/refreshing way so that everything fits all cozy and whimsical, but not trying too hard. just fun + comfy. simple + elegant. freesh + vintage. Love the colors together. you have a gift my friend... are you coming to san diego any time soon?!? i need help!

That is one wonderful porch. You've done a great job with it. My aunt used to have a screened in back porch where we'd sit to escape the bugs. Your's is screened, isn't it? What bliss to have a place like this to wile the summer away.
