"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

New Ideas

Okay, I am so excited!!!! I think I have finally found "me" in my painting!!! I have struggled these past two years to really find my style, my niche in painting. I love bold, bright color, I love words, I love graffiti looking, messy looking things. I am really liking the direction I am going in this. Do I dare risk asking your opinion?? Yes, and please be honest!! Gentle, but honest!

Mary, I love your art--the vivid colors, but more important, it's how you feel about your art--you know yourself--that's all you need!

Yes! Very striking. The color palette in your dynamically-balanced composition is a harmonious rich blend perfect for conveying the deep religious symbolism interwoven in your sense of self. Excellent professional quality here. Get thee to an art gallery!

Mary, your work has become very distinctive and unique to you. If someone showed me that picture, I would know right away who painted it. It's been fun to see how good your art has become, and unlike almost all of your followers, I get to see it live and in person! I love you.

By Jove Mary I believe you've found it! There is a brightness and joy in your paintings, just seeing them on your walls in the pictures you've been sharing of your home showed that with clarity. And I love this new piece, and I do believe I'd recognize your work by just seeing it now. Happy creating!

I love it, I love it! The colour combination is full of energy, and the contrast with the black is so striking. It's very 'you' - you do have a really distinctive style :-)
You know you have found your 'niche' when you get a real buzz from something you have created. Fabulous Mary, really fabulous!

Mary, what is important is that you had a vision, and you have achieved it and are excited about it! I am happy for you!

That being said, I like it!

I think the energy and joy you felt while creating this piece is transferred to the viewer. The colors and style of text are very powerful and the hearts are more gentle and soothing, which to me creates great tension. Congrats on your new discovery, and enjoy the journey Mary!!

Mary, you have a definite style going. Lots of contrast, bright colors, whimsical subject matter..lovin' it! I'd love to have one of your pieces of art in my studio for inspiration and cheer. Would you like to swap art of some sort? That would be FUN!! Stay true to yourself and don't worry what others think (you will wonder, but try not to) and you'll stay focused.
Smiles!

Mary, I love the boldness of the colours you've used here....I think you've descibed it perfectly yourself saying it's 'graffiti looking'! Its a great style and I'm really glad you're happy with it because it suits you!
(what I've come to know of you through our blogs!)xxx

I think other people see your particular style before you do yourself, but when you do see it yourself, WOW, your off!!! Love the bright colours, and the words, and the graffiti style...
Would love to see you join the calendar challenge at The Kathryn Wheel with Kate. Just thinking how gorgeous yours would be with it's solid colour squares all graffiti-ed :)

Ahhh, Dade sounds like a sweet hubby! (I couldn't help but read his comment and encouragement to you)

You know Mary, I really love this painting. (I saw your 1-7-2010 painting first and commented on it before seeing this one) This is the kind of painting you would want to hang on your wall where people entered and they would all go "wow" that is beautiful and speaks so loudly to my soul. It really is awesome! I wish I could meet you in person Mary. You just seem like such a great woman that I'd enjoy getting to know and spend time with. (and I'd like to get some personal painting tips from you while there)

Your painting makes me happy.
