"Once we clearly acknowledge the soul, we can learn to hear it's cries. - Dallas Willard, Renovation Of The Heart."

It takes courage to pursue our dreams. It takes time and patience to unearth buried treasure. But I believe with all my heart that we must do both.

After the tree

The Christmas tree came down on Friday.
I love decorating for Christmas, but really dislike taking everything down and putting it away.
Especially this year.
We store the stuff in a portion of the attic which is now our bedroom. When the house was renovated about 20 years ago the attic was made into a bedroom suite. It's a nice cozy getaway, usually. But of late it has been a mess. We had a small leak in our shower. Well, we thought it was a small leak, and maybe the leak itself was, but in searching for the leak it was discovered that the whole darn thing needed to be replaced!! So for the past several weeks we have had construction going on and I have not cleaned. We have just piled all the Christmas stuff on the floor to be put away. I am thankful I can walk out of there and close the door for now.
I'll deal with it when the shower is finished, hopefully this week.

Here a a couple of pictures of the living room after Christmas, of course I had to re-arrange it a bit. :)

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Love the large bird painting. I believe it's "Sassy Bird" from your right margin display? A joyful painting...please continue to create that colorful joy to share with the world...
We had "plumbing issues" over the holidays, as well, so I can sympathize!

DJ beat me to the comment about the bird painting (she took the words right out of my head)...I love it. Your home is wonderful. We covered all our wood slat walls with sheetrock. Seeing the effect of yours painted makes me wish we hadn't.

Hi Mar! I, too, absolutely love that bird painting on the wall and love the wonderful eclectic and artsy feel to your house. It's so homey and warm feeling. That's too bad about the shower---ugh...I feel for you, I really do but it will be great when it is all finished!!!

I just love your paintings on your walls. How many years have you been painting? I need to put up some artwork on my walls, but can you believe that most of what I have done, I have given away. I am in the process of redoing my living room, dining room area walls, so you have inspired me to take the plunge and design something for myself.

Hope you have a wonderful new year Mary. I loved your prayer for the new year post.

I agree. The fun is in putting up, not taking down. (I think that goes for everything.) Our stuff is still up -- probably until net weekend.

Happy New Year!

Love that red sofa! And is that a hint of a porch swing I see out one window? How easy and comfortable it would be to sis a spell in your living room.
