here are a few pages done with Derwent Inktense Blocks. the first two spreads i was just getting the feel of how they worked and i wanted to see how much color i could get out of them. as you can see it is quite bright and brilliant.
there is a bit of texture on a few of them. i used gesso on the pages first (my pages are very thin in this journal) and when the pages were still wet i smooshed them together.
i blended and played with the blocks a bit more on the last three. i also used some gesso over them here and there.
got the news back on my pooch. she is okay!!! turns out it was a hematoma after all. now i am extremely thankful, but i am a little ticked that the vet could not distinguish between a hematoma and a tumor...put her through an unnecessary surgery and cost us a small boat load of money...i'm just sayin...

good news about your dog, and I'm with you, does make you wonder about the procedures taken seems there are simpler ways, but then I'm not a vet :-)
Brilliant colour, fun to see the various effects you can achieve with the Color Blocks.
Do you have a workshop today? Thinking of you :-)
Mary, I'm SO glad your doggie is OK. Love those inktense color blocks and the gesso effect is awesome.
love the pages, esp with the gesso over the ink...me thinks i'd like to play with those kinds of blocks. :) and i'm so glad your little buddy is ok! btw, my prolapse is not as bad as he thought (i.e. open heart surgery bad). it's worse than it used to be, but meds were prescribed to see if they'll get my heart pumping less sluggishly. so we're back to the drawing board with the issues that he thought were caused by the valve. oh well. could be so much worse!
Oh Sis I'm so glad Molly is ok. Thanks for visiting my blog, and yes I am feeling so much better...been canning peaches and apples.
Just love your journal pages, so bright, so yummy! I've just got some of those inktense blocks too so I'm really interested to see what you did with yours. I'm going to try some gesso over mine now!
Good news about your pooch. Pets cost us a fortune but we still love them don't we?!
That's good news on your dog although I understand your frustration with the vet. I think he should have to foot some of that bill since it was his mistake.
As always your pages are bursting with color and I love them. I haven't tried the blocks yet. I like using the pencils so I'm sure the blocks are even better.
This always looks like so much fun.
Glad to hear your pup is going to be alright. It is so difficult to see them suffer.
I love, love, love the Inktense blocks...now I NEED another thing to play with, right!
Glad pooch is ok but I am sorry about the stress on ALL of you, Mary. I bought the intense color blocks the week after Michelle's wedding, but haven't gotten to play with them yet...maybe soon. You certainly make me want to now!
